The Caregiver Companion
Caring for someone with dementia is one of the greatest acts of love we can offer. It can also be exhausting, heartbreaking, and isolating.
When I was caring for my husband, Richard, I discovered that while so much attention is focused on the person living with dementia, caregivers often forget to care for themselves.
I created The Caregiver Companion to offer caregivers a gentle place to pause, reflect, and simply breathe.
Created by Julie Maxwell, author of Losing Richard, this beautifully designed printable journal includes thoughtful prompts that encourage gratitude, resilience, hope, and self-compassion during one of life’s most challenging journeys.
What's Inside our Book?
Inside you’ll find pages such as:
• A Gentle Check-In
• Today, I Managed To…
• Today’s Small Victories
• A Moment of Gratitude
• A Letter to Myself
• Moments of Strength
• A Moment of Peace
• A Personal Note
Whether you’re caring for a spouse, parent, family member, or friend, I hope these pages remind you that your well-being matters, too.
If Losing Richard shares the story of our family’s journey through dementia, The Caregiver Companion is the quiet companion I wish I’d had along the way.
